Bryan Dorman is new to the mortgage industry but has a world of experience negotiating successful outcomes to challenging issues. Bryan has over 25 years of law enforcement experience where he rose through the ranks, eventually leading an organization of nearly 80 members as the Chief of Police. Bryan retired from law enforcement in 2023.
Bryan began his law enforcement career in 1998 and served in several capacities including patrol officer, traffic homicide investigator, training officer and high liability State of Florida instructor in areas including defensive tactics and police use of force. After many years serving in the patrol section, Bryan later embraced and led a new approach to policing at his organization where the focus was solely on community policing and quality of life issues. His wildly successful unit was referred to as the Community Services Team.
During his 25-year career, Bryan was promoted several times and became primarily responsible for a multi-million dollar budget. To prepare for this world where financial knowledge was paramount, Bryan attained an undergraduate degree in General Business from the University of South Florida and later a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Webber International University. He was also designated as a Certified Public Manager (CPM) from Florida State University. With this business-oriented knowledge in tow, Bryan was able to successfully navigate governmental budget protocols to be fiscally responsible with taxpayer funded dollars. He also secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal grants for much needed public safety equipment.
After being retired for only three (3) months, Bryan decided that he wanted to come back to work to serve the community. Bryan plans to use his financial experience and interpersonal skills to help customers secure funding for them and their families. Bryan is especially excited about assisting those that help others including members of the public safety, military veterans, and education community.
Bryan is a member of Kiwanis International and the Florida Police Chief’s Association. He previously served as the President of the Polk County Police Chief’s Association, Florida District 15 Director of the Florida Police Chief’s Association, Board of Directors for the Bartow Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Neighborhood Ministries of his Church in Lakeland.
Bryan’s wife, Melinda, is a former Deputy Sheriff and currently serves as an educator in the Polk County School System. They have been married for 23 years and they have three (3) children. Bryan enjoys spending time with his family, interacting with friends, traveling, watching any sporting event, and playing golf.
